A mid-engined Porsche 960 will be a Lamborghini Huracan and Ferrari 488GTB competitor.

There are rumors of a potential new mid-engined sports car from Porsche, and it seems that some details have been discovered, according to the new CAR Magazine report form.

The new model, allegedly called the Porsche 960, will be basically the more affordable and childish version of the hard-to-reach and extremely exclusive 918 Spyder. The name was learned by CAR last year, and this was the first tip that gave us an idea of what to expect. Nevertheless, as expected, a little more was known about the car, since manufacturers prefer to remain silent.

Hell, we don’t even know if half of the rumors that we write about are true, but we are still thinking, because it’s half fun.

However, the final bit suggests that the Porsche 960 should get a new lightweight platform built from a list of complex alloys and metals such as aluminum, titanium, high-strength steel, and even some composites. All this, obviously, makes the car light and tough, and its curb weight is about 3086 pounds.

Motivation is likely to be made possible thanks to a quad-turbocharged 3.9L flat-six, resulting in 650hp and a 0-62 time of just 2.5 seconds.

A sticker price of around $ 290,745 is expected.
